Explain why you selected each of the FOUR videos you choose from the selection listed above.

1. I picked “Matisse and Picasso” and “Dada and Surrealism” because I wanted to learn more about these topics

 2. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned.

 “Matisse and Picasso” showed the connection between Matisse and Picasso. This video also showed their art and what it took for them to be the art moguls they are today. “Dada and Surrealism” focuses on the rise of Surrealism and how it allowed art to be displayed in places because of the creation of museums.

2. How do the videos relate to the readings in the text?

I feel like the videos serve as reinforcement for the information I learned in the text. This was just an addition on to the information from the book.

3. What is your opinion of the films? How do they add depth to understanding of the readings and art concepts?

I was interested in these films because I always hear about Picasso and Matisse but I never took the time out to further educate myself on these artists. These videos extended my knowledge of these two artists. “Dada and Surrealism” just gave me a better knowledge of Surrealism aside from the information in the text.
