1. What was it like using
your hand as subject matter for a drawing?
When doing this project it was very
different having to use my hand as the subject matter. However, I found this
project entertaining because it was easier to look at the all the details since
it is my hand.
2. What media did you select
- pencil or charcoal? Why?
The media I chose to use for this
project was a pencil. I chose to use a pencil because when I made a mistake I
was able to erase and start over. Another positive aspect about using this was
that a pencil is easier to grasp than charcoal.
3. How did it feel to create
a drawing with your non-dominant hand?
When drawing with my non-dominant hand
it was obviously much more difficult for me since I don’t use that hand for
writing or drawing purposes. Using this hand, made the process much slower and
the drawing of my hand wasn’t as good.
4. Compare and contrast your
final drawings. Do you think they are successful studies?
Based on my final drawings what I had
predicted proved to be right. I knew that my left handed picture would most
likely come out looking much better than the picture using my non-dominant hand.
5. Would you consider using
your non-dominant hand to create artwork in the future?
