1. Explain why you
selected each of the three videos you choose from the selection listed above.
“Late Gothic Art and Architecture: England” because this era was very
interesting and I like how the video showed its transformation through time
periods. The second video I chose was “The Birth of the Middle Ages” because I
find it interesting that this era became known as the Dark era. Lastly, I chose
“Cairo Museum” because I found it interesting how this museum is known for the
great pieces of work that are inside and the history behind it.
2. For each video
list/discuss the key concepts you learned. One key concept I learned In
the “Late Gothic Art and Architecture: England” was drastic art had
transitioned into because of this style. In “The Birth of the Middle Ages” one
key concept I learned was how Japan also at the time had their own version of
the middle ages. The last key concept I learned in “Cairo Museum” was the
famous pieces that are in this museum that I had never heard about it was quite
interesting.
3. How do the videos
relate to the readings in the text? I felt
the videos had a lot to do with the readings in the textbook like many of the
other videos I felt the videos just give a visual description of what was read
in the textbook. I felt some of it was repetitive but it was informative at the
same time.
4. What is your opinion of the films?
How do they add depth to understanding of the readings and art concepts?
I thought that the films were much more boring then
the films we have been watching recently, although they do add depth to the
textbook. Watching the videos after reading the
text give me a diverse set of information and it makes the easier for me to
understand the concepts because I can read about them and see them.
